Are children allowed to dine in Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall?
Children over the age of 12 are welcome to dine in Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall.
Is there a dress code?
We kindly ask that guests dress in a Smart/Casual dress code with strictly no shorts or flip flops.
What Is the Cancellation Policy?
For our hotel guests, we kindly ask that any cancellation to your reservation be made no less than seven days prior. For no shows or late cancellations, full payment will be applied to the credit card on file. For our non-resident guests, in the event of a cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date a cancellation charge at the full menu price will be applied. If we are able to resell the booking there will be no charge made to the card. No shows will be charged at 100% of the full menu price.
Are dogs allowed in Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall?
Grantley Hall does not accept dogs at the hotel or within the hotel grounds. Guide dogs are welcomed across the hotel and restaurants and we also accept support or assistance dogs provided they are wearing a coat clearly identifying them as such and an ESA letter must be provided at time of booking.

Guests can expect a tasting menu experience at Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall. The Taste of Home menu is inspired by Shaun’s childhood growing up in Yorkshire and uses the finest local produce where possible – most of which is sourced within a 30-mile radius of the hotel and all of which celebrate the very best of Yorkshire as a county.
Alongside working with key and trusted suppliers to provide the finest quality ingredients, Shaun and his brigade of chefs forage the local area for seasonal produce to utilise on the menu, along with taking advantage of the various herbs and vegetables grown in the Kitchen Garden on-site.
When it comes to service, Director of Fine Dining, Monika Czop leads the front of house Shaun Rankin team to deliver impeccable service and attention to detail with warmth and welcoming Yorkshire hospitality.
What are the wine pairing options when dining?
Guests can choose from a variety of different pairing options for their Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall experience. They range from the Signature wine pairing to the Prestige wine pairing to elevate your Michelin-starred meal.
For those who choose not to drink, the Shaun Rankin team have crafted an experiential non-alcoholic pairing to complement the Taste of Home tasting menu. This features six different offerings, some of the ingredients of which are grown in the Kitchen Garden and all of which are created in the restaurant itself.
What accolades does Shaun Rankin hold?
Shaun received his first Michelin star in 2005 at Bohemia in Jersey. In 2013, Shaun opened his own highly-acclaimed restaurant, Ormer in St Helier which was awarded its first Michelin star four months after opening, as well as receiving three AA rosettes a few months later. Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall opened in July 2019, where Shaun Rankin is Chef Patron. It was awarded its first Michelin star in January 2020 and four AA rosettes in September 2023.
As a celebrated chef, Shaun has featured on many popular TV cooking shows over the span of his career so far. In 2009 Shaun represented the southwest in the fourth series of BBC Two's Great British Menu, winning the show with a dish of "Treacle Tart with Jersey clotted cream and raspberry ripple coulis".
Since then, Shaun has appeared on our screens more with numerous appearances on popular weekend cookery show, Saturday Kitchen. Shaun launched his debut cookbook 'Shaun Rankin's Seasoned Islands' in 2010, which included over 75 recipes and showcased his love for the Channel Islands where he spent much of his life. Alongside this, Shaun filmed his first TV series, 'Shaun Rankin's Island Feast' where he travelled across Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm.
Do you cater for allergies & dietary requirements?
Aside from our regular Taste of Home Menu, we are pleased to offer Vegetarian and Pescatarian alternative menus.
Please note that we do not offer a vegan menu or cater for any dislikes or dietary restrictions which we feel compromises our vision and style of the tasting menu.
Should such a situation arise, the dish will simply have to be missed or we will remove ingredients to the best of our ability.
For dietary aversions due to religious reasons, we would recommend either our Vegetarian or Pescatarian menus.
The Taste of Home menu is prepared exclusively for you and your guest/s on the day of your visit. With this in mind, if you are the reservation holder, we require that you to let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements for yourself and for members of your party prior to your visit, with at least 72 hours’ notice.
Can you have an À la carte menu?
Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall offers only the Taste of Home tasting menu to guests.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall welcomes both hotel residents and non-residents. We are unable to accommodate guests who have not made prior reservations.
